The Spanish city Vitoria will hold the European Capital of ecology during 2012 and the French city of Nantes in 2013, an environmental prize awarded by the European Commission.
The European institution encourages cities to improve the quality of urban life of its citizens, urban planning based on the care and respect for the environment

Para saber si un método de buenas prácticas medioambientales es eficaz, necesitaremos de unos indicadores para verificarlo.

EXPERIENCIAS MUNICIPALES EN ZARAGOZA: ESTRATEGIA PARA LA MITIGACIÓN DEL CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO Y LA MEJORA DE LA CALIDAD DEL AIRE (ECAZ)
La ESTRATEGIA DE CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO Y DE CALIDAD DEL AIRE DE ZARAGOZA parte de la necesidad evidente de implantar medidas para la mejora de la calidad del aire y para la mitigación y adaptación al cambio climático.
La evaluación de la situación de partida se llevó a cabo partiendo de la realización del Inventario de Emisiones 2005 que proporcionó el diagnóstico de la situación, necesario para la adopción de las medidas más adecuadas en cada caso.
El análisis de las conclusiones del IE 2005 es la base para diseñar la estrategia a desarrollar estableciendo los campos en los que son necesarias o imprescindibles determinadas actuaciones o aquellos que resultan idóneos para la aplicación de determinadas medidas. Establecidas y definidas las actuaciones se dispone del mapa estratégico que ofrece la visión global de la Estrategia de Cambio Climático y de Calidad del Aire de Zaragoza, en adelante ECAZ.
El siguiente paso es llevar a cabo una primera estimación de la evolución esperada para las emisiones si se mantuviera la tendencia actual, teniendo en cuenta factores como el número de habitantes y de vehículos, el crecimiento de la ciudad etc. Finalmente, se estima la reducción de emisiones a la atmósfera consecuente a la aplicación de ECAZ para el año 2015 contabilizando los ahorros de emisiones que se producirían con la puesta en marcha de las medidas previstas en la misma.

EL ANILLO VERDE (THE GREEN BELT)
El Anillo Verde de Zaragoza se concibe no como algo cerrado en sí mismo, sino como una red capaz de articular los distintos espacios verdes de la ciudad, y con la vocación de desarrollar sub-anillos y ramificaciones.
En esta estrategia se inserta la voluntad municipal al realizar este encargo: diseñar un anillo en el norte de la ciudad que se inserte en la estructura del anillo verde principal y que sea capaz de articular los grandes sistemas verdes fluviales y diversos espacios verdes de ese entorno, integrando además los espacios periurbanos con los urbanos.

EXPERIENCIAS DE ARAGÓN: VOLUNTARÍOS
VoluntaRíos es un programa de voluntariado ambiental dirigido a toda la sociedad aragonesa.
Los objetivos son varios:
1. Conocer nuestros ríos y hacer un diagnóstico de sus aguas y de sus riberas para entre todos intentar mejorarlos y recuperarlos como espacio de disfrute público
2. Acercarnos al río y conocerlo cada vez mejor.
3. Realizar labores de recuperación de ríos y riberas bien con trabajo de los voluntaRíos bien con la mediación con las administraciones competentes.4
El plazo de inscripción se inicia todos, los años a comienzos de marzo y puedes apuntarte como persona individual o como grupo o asociación o simplemente quieres saber algo de los proyectos, no dudes en ponerte en contacto con VoluntaRíos.

El Consejo de Ministros ha aprobado el Plan Nacional de Mejora de la Calidad del Aire para impulsar un modelo de desarrollo y bienestar sostenible, basado en la innovación y la eficiencia y que, además, mejora la calidad de la información que recibimos como gestores y ciudadanos
Incluye 90 medidas estructuradas en áreas de actuación para asegurar el cumplimiento de los valores límite de PM10 (material particulado) y NO2 (dióxido de nitrógeno) y la reducción simultanea de precursores de ozono

¿Qué es la educación ambiental no formal e informal (EE) para los adultos?
Para el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente del Gobierno de España, la educación ciudadana ambiental es una tarea de todos: administraciones, usuarios, asociaciones vecinales, grupos conservacionistas, etc. Se enmarca dentro del desarrollo cultural de la sociedad y su asimilación por parte de la población es una garantía para una mejor comprensión y búsqueda de soluciones ambientales.
La educación ambiental se apoya en los siguientes objetivos:
- Promover el cambio de valores y actitudes sobre los que se basa la relación del hombre con el medio ambiental como forma de mejorar la calidad de vida a través de la mejora de la calidad ambiental.
- Abordar una tarea educativa desde lo preventivo.
- Desarrollar en la población los conocimientos necesarios que permitan comprender, desde una perspectiva sistémica, el funcionamiento de la educación ambiental.

Daniel Martins from Oeiras Solar Lab presented the Solar Energy project (ws-energia.com).
Due to objective reasons (heavy rains in Oeiras) the visit to Oeiras Solar Lab couldn’t take place.
ISQ , who has a department that runs education for sustainable development programmes for adults, presented three good practices:
